
Since Hi-PoS stores so much information about each transaction the customer makes, it's very easy to make use of the historic information to market new products to your existing customers. After all, its much easier to sell to someone who knows the service you offer.
Within the Head Office and Till module reports, you can select the Customer Mailing List Report, which will present you a screen similar to the one below. From here you can query the database for customer information based on a range of criteria. This can include:-
- Specific product or product group purchased, ie DVD Players
- Specific staff member or group of staff members
- Specific supplier or group of suppliers
This can be further refined to restrict the information to only those customers:-
- Who spent a certain value
- Who purchased in a particular period
- Whose postcode is from a specific area or Town
One of the most powerfull aspects of the report is the ability to EXCLUDE customers. This can be used to make the infomation much more tightly focused, by for example, listing everyone who bought a DVD Player, but not a DVD Recorder, or perhaps an extended warranty.
Once the criteria have been selected, you can then decide on how to present the data. Again there are some very powerfull choices:-
- Print address labels
- Print a report (which could then be exported to Microsoft Excel for further analysis)
- Email the customers directly from the Hi-PoS system
- Send an SMS or TEXT message to the customer's mobile phone
- Export the names to Microsoft Word for a Mail Merge
